David Nevill

Chief Executive Officer

David Nevill started his role as chief executive officer on August 31, 2015. Prior to being named CEO of the inpatient physical rehabilitation hospital, he served as CEO of Lovelace Medical Center. His other most recent experience includes serving in various healthcare leadership roles in Chennai, India, and Wichita, Kansas. David earned his master’s degree in applied positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and his masters’ degrees in public health and health care administration and business administration from the University of Missouri. Additionally, he received a bachelor’s degree from Graceland University.

Dr Walker

Angela Eaton-Walker, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Walker became medical director of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in 2010. She received her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Michigan and continued on at Michigan State University with the College of Human Medicine receiving her MD. Dr. Walker completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Sinai-Grace Hospital of Detroit and she has been practicing for 11 years. 

Angela Eaton-Walker, M.D. is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.

Byron Aten

Byron Aten, CPA

Controller

Byron oversees the finances, payroll, accounts payable, central supply and medical records at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital. He has his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico, Anderson School of Management, and is certified as a public accountant in the state of New Mexico. Byron has been with HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital since 2005.

Lisa Brower

Lisa Brower, MOTR/L

Director of Therapy Operations

Lisa oversees physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology for both inpatient and outpatient services at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as patient transport. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry, and her master’s degree in occupational therapy, both at the University of New Mexico. Lisa has been with HealthSouth since 2005.

Kristen Hernandez

Kristen Hernandez

Director of Human Resources

Kristen brings over 15 years of human resources experience to HealthSouth. A native New Mexican, Kristen earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in human resources from The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico in 2003. Kristen has been with HealthSouth since March of 2014 and oversees all functions of the human resources department as well as employee health services.

Dan Lanari

Dan Lanari

Director of Quality and Risk Management

Dan Lanari started his role as director of quality and risk management in October 2016. His most recent experience includes leadership roles in home healthcare, outpatient rehabilitation and acute care settings. Dan received his bachelor’s degree in health science, doctorate degree in physical therapy and master’s degree in business administration degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, and National Association for Healthcare Quality.  In addition, Dan serves on the board of directors for the American Physical Therapy Association - New Mexico Chapter. Dan is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in Quality Improvement.

Tony Lucero

Plant Operations Director

Tony Lucero joined HealthSouth Albuquerque as the director of plant operations in 2016. A New Mexico native, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1984 and has spent more than 20 years working in healthcare facilities and plant operations.

 

Shawn Wilbur

Shawn Wilbur

Director of Marketing Operations

Shawn joined HealthSouth in May 2016. Before coming to New Mexico, Shawn resided in Michigan where she received her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Madonna College and her registered respiratory therapist license at Washtenaw College. She has more than 23 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse and 18 years of sales experience including homecare, specialty, infusion and durable medical equipment
